Three Ways Stay-at-home Moms can Make Money Online
Posted on 22. Nov, 2011 by admin in Making Money
A friend of mine recently wrote an article on ways to make money online for college students. A lot of marketing efforts are aimed toward people in their late teens and early twenties, but what about stay-at-home moms?
If you’re a stay at home mom, chances are you make most of your family’s purchases. Because of this, I think you have a good understanding of an undertargeted demographic with lots of purchasing power since that’s your demographic! I think you have a great opportunity to make money online so I am sharing three ways to do it:
Affiliate marketing
Did you know that it is possible to earn commissions on stuff you sell online? You can make a website with links to sites where shoppers can buy things, and take a cut each time they make a purchase. That is what most of those links to books that people in Facebook groups post are.
Make money blogging
The words in a blog themselves can make you money. While your kid is asleep, you can write articles about things people buy a lot, like fitness supplies, vacations, and even how to make money. Then, you can use a service like Viglinks or Infolinks and create rich ads right within your text. Alternatively, you can combine this with affiliate marketing and put up affiliate marketing ads in your text or as banners.
Play online poker
Buy a good poker book such as The Theory of Poker and learn how to make money at home. Start off at the small stakes and work your way up. You’ll also need a heads-up display like Poker Tracker or Hold’em Manager to see stats on your opponents. Texas Hold’em is the most popular game to play and also the one that rewards skill the most, whereas games like Omaha, though still skill intensive, are usually less profitable because weaker players are not at as big of a disadvantage.
Note: Check the laws of your jurisdiction before playing online poker.
